As you might have read on the Welcome Page, that big button under the readout -- the one with the arrangement of five dots -- is the Quincunx Button. Click on it and you go directly to the Quincunx Library. Here you'll be able to locate, read about and download items which correspond to particular quincunx icons in the margins of the Chronicler's Edition of The Luck of Madonna 13 (or maybe a downloaded sample chapter). All you need to know is the page number upon which a quincunx appears and you can find a page number reference on one of the the Quincunx Library pages, along with a descriptive blurb and a GET IT link (in most cases). Not all items listed will be "live" (or even listed); this is a work in progress, after all.
How to access the library? Click on the GET IT link for any item that looks interesting to you from its description. Or if you're the daring type, click the Surprise Me button, the one with the "oh my" icon. It'll make a decision for you and take you to an informative.
WHAT'S
IN THE QUINCUNX LIBRARY?
What might you find here? Basically, it's stuff that in some
way illuminates that particular slice of future that allowed these Chronicles
and the characters that populate them to exist. It may season or flavor the
actual Chronicles in some small way. Some of this stuff might even qualify
as clues or hints, if you're into that sort of thing.
WHAT'S ELSEWHERE?
What
won't you find here? Descriptive and promotional stuff about The
Luck of Madonna 13 and/or the author, for two things. You can find plenty
of this kind of stuff -- including a growing library of blushingly
good reviews -- on the publisher's website. If you want to stick your
neck out and buy a copy (it's a great investment; trust me), click on the
Buy a Book link.
Back to the Quincunx Library. Materials there are in different forms: some
are images, some are downloadable documents in Adobe Acrobat PDF format (you'll
need a copy of Adobe's free Acrobat Reader to read these and a link to Adobe's
site is provided at left). If the luck of Madonna 13 is with me, there may
ultimately be some music here: your Chronicler is negotiating to obtain a
copy of a certain "bootleg" recording made by Glendyl Fenderwell's
snoopy QPack. No telling when this will occur or if it will be worth listening
to. We'll just have to take our chances.
If you're ready to explore further, just click on something in the navbox.
