BOOK OF THE YEAR -- The Chronicler is proud to report that The Luck of Madonna 13 earned the first place gold for science fiction in ForeWord Magazine's Book of the Year Awards for 2002. ForeWord's mission is highlighting the best output of the independent and university presses and the Chronicler is delighted to have earned this recognition for his first novel.
BEST OF 2002 -- The Luck of Madonna 13 was named to January Magazine's list of Best Books of 2002. Thank you January Magazine!! Nice review, too.
ORPHANS ELEVEN -- The Chronicler's personal website is now sponsoring a literary zine edited by the redoubtable Father Gulligan. It has been stocked with some of the Chronicler's "occasional tales" and what the editor describes as "an op-ed piece thinly disguised as a story."
SEPTRIQ LIVES! -- Well, not quite yet, but we're still working on it. In a fit of madness, the Chronicler's brother (his name is Scott and he's a software engineer by profession, a game architect, a clever, wise writer and all-around great guy) has taken on the task of turning the SeptriqTM oracle from The Luck of Madonna 13 into a functioning software oracle. With brains. One of these days you won't want to leave home without it. The clip to the right is from one of the screen design studies. At this writing the project is looking like it will first see the light of day as an iPhone and iPad app.
CONS AND SUCH -- The Chronicler has had the honor of participating as a guest author at several SciFi Convention, including WesterCon 56, WesterCon 57 and LosCon 31. As a local scifi author, he was a featured speaker and panelist during the 2005 One Book, One Bakersfield citywide reading program featuring Ray Bradbury's classic Fahrenheit 451.
BLATHERING THE AIRWAVES -- Radio appearances on numerous talk shows, with regional and national golden-voiced hosts like Brad Davis, Ken Hamblin, Jordan Rich, Brad Shepard and Rick Barber.
